The GPAA is a national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting recreational prospecting. We emphasize a family oriented atmosphere and encourage family participation at all our meetings.

Alabama Gold Camp
The The Alabama Gold Camp is a privately run location located in Cragford, AL. They have 13 camp sites ready now with full hook-ups. There is over a mile of shaded creek banks ready for primative camping. They have a large pavilion that can be used for club activites. There are bathrooms and hot showers. The general store is finished and well stocked with prospecting supplies and snacks. Here are their fees:
Prospecting Rates (children age 11 and under free with paid adult)
Panning, Sluicing, Metal Detecting $5.00 per person per day
2" dredge $15.00 per day
3" dredge $20.00 per day
4" dredge $20.00 per day
5" dredge $25.00 per day
High banking (small) $15.00 per day
High banking (large) $20.00 per day
High banking and dredging equipment rentals available
Camping Rates
Primitive camping $5.00 per night per person (including bathhouses)
Full hook-up camping $20.00 per night $125.00 per week
They will be listing Alabama Gold Club membership packages in the next few days which will include an annual rate for prospecting and camping. Jeff Landrum is the owner of the camp. You can call the camp store at 256.396.0389 or send Jeff an email. On the web page there is a Bama Gold Yahoo Group link. You must join this group (it's free) to view more information. There is gold on the property. There is an old minesite on the property. The Mitchell mine is across the creek. The Manning Placer branch runs into their creek.
